A transgender cat killer has been found guilty of murdering a stranger on his way home.
On average, Americans murder 4 times as many people as British people. I'm not sure whether those statistics also apply to transgender Americans, but clearly I'm a lot less of a threat than you are.

We probably don't want to dive into that statistic too deeply, lest we encounter yet another topic upon which people who look a certain way are not allowed to opine.

Is it really so obvious that people who feel compelled to change their sex, aren't suffering from a mental malady? Or is that just a bit of cultural programming that people parrot because it's considered evil not to parrot it?
Of course that's not to say most transgender people are anti-social in any way. Most psycopaths aren't even anti-social in their behavior. Most mentally ill people are not anti-social.
But then, some mentally ill people engage in death threats over the internet against courageous truth tellers and reporters of the most crucial issues of our time. The mental illness must be admitted as a factor.

Roughly 20% of the population suffer from some form of mental illness. 5% suffer from severe mental illness.
I'd guess the actual numbers are quite a bit higher, since so much goes unreported or undiagnosed.
Of course, we can do statistics all day long, but mental issues aren't exactly uncommon.

@Doctor-Phibes That's an interesting statistic. I wonder what it really consists of. Is it a true mental illness like bipolar, etc, or is it just that they are not the ideal supermensch who is well adjusted to every facet of life, internal and social?

We've come a very long way, in a very short time, from "Live and let live".
I haven't. That's how I feel about it.
The fact that there are activists pushing a harmful agenda is one thing. Demonizing homosexuals en masse as 'perverts' is something else. Obviously, Copper is trolling for attention when he does this, and I'm probably giving it to him by complaining about it, but I've got friends and loved ones who are gay, as I'm sure others here have, and I get sick of the bullshit.
I think that anything that undermines a monogamous, heterosexual marriage is bad for society.
And expecting homosexuals to have a monogamous, heterosexual marriage is just plain dumb. You clearly don't want them to marry one another. You'd rather they just hide in the background so we don't have to think about them?

No, I've been a pretty consistent opponent of gay marriage. I also am opposed to polygamy or anything besides one man/one woman. I'm okay with domestic partnerships.
I also don't care for homosexual marriage and kids. Kids have minds of mush and I've seen too many seriously screwed up in the head by being raised in a gay household. Not that there aren't some pretty screwed up heterosexual households, but don't let the strive for equality in all things screw up what is best.

When others have taken a topic more seriously than you because they have personal experience with it and you don't, you've found their reaction funny.
Yeah, I'm imperfect. Shock horror.
However, I do at least try to be humorous. I know I don't always succeed. Do you think what people write about gays being disgusting is intended to be funny?

No, I don't think it was intended to be funny, nor do I find it funny. I find it backward and ridiculous.

Like everything, bipolar can vary. There's bipolar I and II, which are different diagnoses - bipolar II can be misdiagnosed as depression. Then you've got anxiety, depression, and all the rest of it.
Just based on my own life, I'm fairly confident that more of the people we don't know intimately suffer from this stuff than we realise.

I completely disagree with this. As my boss likes to say, perfection is the enemy of good enough. Plenty of gay couples are more than capable of providing a positive and loving home environment which can be significantly better than the alternatives. Would you prefer the state to raise them? People who are proven to be incapable? Which group should we write off next -people who play violent computer games? People who have anger management issues? Heavy drinkers? Gun owners?
Nobody is perfect with the possible exception of Jesus of Nazareth, and he didn't have any kids which is possibly why he maintained his 100% score.

I worked with a gay man who was married to another man who had custody of his two teenage daughters from his previous marriage to a woman. The girls were totally fine with the arrangement and much preferred living with their homosexual parents rather than spend any length of time with their biological mother. I dropped by to say hello last month and both girls are now in university and have hetero boyfriends. They are doing very well.
I am not aware of any perverts among anyone in the family, although I can’t speak for the biological mother as I never met her.

Your wife saying “get off your phone or I’ll kill you” doesn’t count, oh brave journalist.

I consider heterosexual to be the norm and superior to homosexual when it comes to sexuality and life. I also think children have minds of mush and are mentally malleable.
Much like the transgender fad of today, people do have a bit of sliding scale on sexuality. I think persuasion, either overt or covert, can slide positions on the scale, especially with those who are unsure, which is especially true during puberty and the later teens.
Classically, the population is less than three percent (usually closer to one percent) gay. Today, 20% of Gen Z identifies as LGBTQ.
That's insane, for whatever reason.

I'd assumed the death threats were people threatening to kill themselves if he didn't shut up
