Those poor guys back in 2015. Nowadays they don't know they're born.

I believe the cap is based on NFL revenue or something? Either way, it works... MLB, as much as I love it, has a massive spending disparity which is why you often see the same teams struggling and the same teams dominating. I was lucky enough to watch the Nationals go from nothing in 2005 through draft picks (and spending!) to a World Series win in 2019. Went through many years of absolute dog shit to get there. They're back to dog shit btw... but I'm now a Twins fan.

Can you tell when the gambling money started coming in?
People online have laughed at me when I said backup QB was about to become an $8M-12M per year gig… Last season over 25% of the starting QBs in the league suffered season ending injuries. There were over 66 different starters in the regular season. Backup QBs actually helped three different teams make the playoffs and kept 6 other teams in the hunt until the last week. Last year, the median starting QB salary was $37.5 Million. If you are a contending team and paying ~ $50M per year for your starter, you have to plan for your starter to go ho down for at least 3-4 weeks, and better have a backup that you trust to win at least a few of those games. That takes money..

Famous Jameis wants to be a starting QB. Carr started one or two games last year when his shoulder was still hurt and lost those games. I don't think the Saints make that mistake again.
I think they pay Winston and keep him. And I think it's going to take $12M-$14M/year.

Don't know where these idiots get their figures. I know Johnny well. The most I think he ever made in one year (besides his Super Bowl bonus) was $60K. He was an All-Pro six times, has one Super Bowl ring (played in two) and is in the HOF.

@Jolly Yes, seems like kind of a weird list. Someone with USD$500K is at #7.
