@Jolly said in Hamas attacks Israel:

    30,000?

    A good start...

Of which at least 8500 children.
I feel absolutely no sympathy for Hamas, but who can possibly approve this? Apparently king Herod has resurrected...

That’s on Hamas. It wasn’t the Israelis putting missile batteries in schools, clinics, and private residential buildings. An 8 year old boy was shot by off duty police in Houston on Sunday because an insane woman pulled the kid into a church and started to shoot at people. Is that the fault of the police or the lunatic?

@Jolly As I said before: I feel absolutely NO sympathy for Hamas. But I bet that most of those dead children weren't carrying AK47's.
And no: I'm not an anti-Israelite.

          Link to video

The Israeli military released a video that purportedly shows the Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar inside a tunnel below the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, with his wife, children and his brother Ibrahim Sinwar.

            Bibi blew it?

Prime Minister Netanyahu could have prevented Hamas’s October 7 terror attack by cutting the terror group’s funding supply, Mossad’s former Head of Economic Warfare Udi Levy told the BBC on Monday.

Levy told the BBC that Netanyahu failed to act on intelligence, which would have disrupted Hamas’s military capabilities. He continued to tell the source that Hamas could have been destroyed "by using only financial tools.”

Speaking on Hamas’s October 7 terror attack, Levy confirmed his belief that the infiltration would not have damaged Israel to the extent it had if intelligence had been acted upon.

“There is a very good chance that... we would [have] prevent[ed] a lot of the money" that had gone into Gaza, and that "the monster that Hamas built probably [wouldn't be] like the same monster that we faced on October 7th," Levy told the BBC.

If Netanyahu had followed the advice, Levy said that Hamas would have needed "billions, not millions" of dollars to build its expansive network of terror tunnels under the Gaza Strip.

They may not be Hamas but I have read they overwhelmingly support Hamas.

The most recent poll of Gazans that I saw still show approval for the Oct 7th attack of about 65%. In the West Bank, that number is about 85%.

Apparently he's trying to appeal to the fantasy that a population can't be systematically programmed by the dominant culture, to hold ideas that would be considered evil by progressive Western standards. No, all such idea holders are marginal, in every culture ever known to man, because western values are actually universal values, and everybody is born knowing the truth of them.

Copied from the other thread, where it shouldn't have been posted.

                                      But, whatever...

Hamas insists permanent ceasefire needed for hostage deal

Hamas publicly insisted Tuesday that a permanent ceasefire must be in place before any deal is implemented for the release of the remaining 134 hostages held in Gaza, in a statement that seemed to run counter to optimism from Washington that an agreement was possible before the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

“In the past two days, the movement presented its position on the proposal put forward by the brotherly Qatari and Egyptian mediators,” senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan said in Beirut.

He spoke as ceasefire talks mediated by both Egypt and Qatar continued in Cairo with no sign of a breakthrough.

“We reaffirmed our conditions for a ceasefire: a full pullout from the Strip and the return of the displaced [Palestinians] from areas they left, in particular in the north,” he said.

                                      Wasn't there a cease-fire in place on October 6?
