Taxes - what's a "fair share?"

We have been hearing that the pay gap is increasing. Did the top 1% of taxpayers earn proportionally more in 2021 than in previous years?
If so, then this is rather like pretty much everybody I know who gets a free company car, and then complains about how much tax it costs them.

Take out the top and bottom 1% and give me that pay gap..

Fair is a meaningless term. Some people think rich people should pay more. Some don't. Rich people in particular probably feel that way.
Is it "fair" that some guy gets paid millions of dollars a year? He probably thinks so. People getting 30K probably don't.
I have no problem at all with taxing the rich. They're rich, they can afford it. The real trick is to not tax them so much that they want to go and live somewhere else.
