They aren’t saying how much Bud Light itself is down, but AB Bevs volume as a whole was down 17% over last year. That’s all of it together. Bud, Shocktop, Busch, etc…

Insiders are saying that Budweiser lost customers are likely gone for good, but that isn’t keeping them from trying…

    1. promoting a return of fan favorite Bud Light characters in this year’s Super Bowl

    2. promoting a new character promotion this year

    3. They just signed conservative comic Shane Gillis https://www.outkick.com/bud-light-shane-gillis-partnership/

Gillis is hilarious. "Conservative" is part of his act, but it's slightly performative. He's not a card carrying pop culture progressive, I'll give him that. He's in Rogan's sphere. He's got a special on Netflix which is very good.

      Education is extremely important.

There's a secular trend towards less alcohol consumption and craft brands as well.... wonder how much that plays into this.

But yeah - they messed up this brand nicely.

🍻 Thinking he was quoting Churchill, Ron DeSantis quoted a Budweiser beer ad.

Having recently announced his retirement from the presidential race, the Florida governor issued an uplifting quote, attributing it to the British prime minister: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

However, it turned out that Churchill never uttered these words, according the People. They are taken from a 1939 Budweiser beer advertising campaign. - FRWL reports

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

              1. I guess you don't drink as much beer when you're not in lock down?
              2. Most lite beers are pretty similar. Besides, after the first couple of beers, you can't tell a lot about taste differences.
              3. The economy sucks for a lot of people. Craft beers cost more. See points #1 and #2(b).

@LuFins-Dad I didn't watch any superbowl commercials last night so I was looking at them on youtube today.

Guess which commercial is the only one on YouTube with comments disabled?

                  Lol.

On a related note - I was floored to learn that Athletic Brewing is now one of the most popular beers in the country. It's a non-alcoholic beer. It outsells all regular beer at places like Whole Foods.

I didn't even know about it until a few weeks ago - it's not bad.
