    The person recording the video was doing a professional studio quality job of filming the heist and was also considerate enough to not show the perpetrator's license plate! Such a skilled and kindhearted cinematographer!

                      Exactly. I thought that Apple disabled the phones that are in their stores.

                        I dunno...the iPads are functional. I'd guess the phones are as well.

                        But if they have serial #s, and I'm sure they do, it would be trivial to brick the devices.
