He seems to forget that Yang took the lead after about 1 ½ laps.

After she leads by one lap, can she take advantage of aerodynamic drag behind other racers? Or is this a purely psychological tactic?

I am pretty sure there is truth to the aerodynamic drag. Bicycle racers, birds, etc. I think I heard a number of somewhere between 10-15% less energy if you are able to draft.

The oriental speed skaters practice so much that their eyes get stretched back.

            Education is extremely important.

LOL, you said "Oriental," you racist.

                A Talladega Train:

Those are trucks, the cars do that at 200mph on the straightaway.

Not as fast as a Talladega Train, but I think it shows some of the speed...

Man that would be fun to watch in person one day, Jolly. I've been on the Rockingham Speedway before, man the angle of the turns would blow your mind. Ok maybe not yours, but someone who hasn't been to a racetrack like that before.

I used to go to Talladega, because my son was a huge NASCAR fan. Never been to Daytona. Both tracks are super speedways, especially Talladega. Daytona may be the better experience, though (not necessarily family friendly).

Sadly, NASCAR isn't as popular as it once was. They started chasing butts in the seats (Texas Motor Speedway held 200,000 in the stands) and forgot their core fans.

I went to Talladega in 1993 with a couple of buddies. In the infield with a truck.

Funny, you don't strike me as the NASCAR type.

                        What did she look like?

You and I had this conversation years ago. I’m not a racing fan, F1, NASCAR or Indy.

But I was in the area on a project and a local invited three of us out-of-town guys to go. It was fun.
