No one said whole milk is bad. Reduced fat milk is better for almost everyone.

Personally I’d rather they attack sodium and refined carbs instead of dietary fat.

If refined carbs are your target of choice, in that same bucket of dietary ideas is the notion that whole milk is better than reduced fat.

I drink 1%. Skim milk is no good since vitamin D is fat soluble.

@Mik I've been drinking whole milk all my life, about 3/4 litre a day. My arteries are just fine, my teeth are in good shape, and my vitamine D-level is still all right.

I grew up on it, Wim. As much as we wanted. It’s like a treat to me now when I have some. Love it.

Nothing the matter with whole milk or, as we used to call it here, homo milk. It’s now called 3%.

The state of research on saturated fat is pretty confusing.

I just try to follow the principle of eating low-processed or whole foods. I don’t buy the low fat version of any dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt)

Read into it what you want. If you believe refined carbs are not a problem in a country with obesity rates at 40% and metabolic syndrome everywhere you look then maybe you should reevaluate your views rather than criticize mine.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Of course. "you" as in the American "you". Because I was speaking for America and its general ideas about nutrition, obviously. So when you say "you", clearly you meant "America and its general ideas about nutrition". My mistake, I'm really sorry for straw manning you, jon. You are so smart and honest. It must be difficult to engage here with people who aren't always like that.

But I did not say that refined carbs are not a problem for obesity. I have known they are a problem for many decades now, long before it became common, if still idiotically disputed, knowledge.

Yes, it was short for “3% homogenised milk”

Usually just referred to as a bottle or quart/litre of homo.

Horace - I misread your first post and thought you had lumped together aversion to refined carbs with a preference for low fat milk and criticized them as a pair, hence my reaction. My apologies.

Hang on a second, are you saying that chocolate is freaking bad for you? How about beer?

                              God sucks.

                              I was only joking

Chocolate isn’t bad for you. It’s all the added sugar
