    Nice going!

We're waiting for our first set of results.....for some reason they let them do their finals at home after the end of the semester.

    I was only joking

Very good. A good reason for pride.

The weird thing (or not so weird thing if you think about it)? The heavier his credit load, the harder the subject matter, the better the grades.

I was like that, too, for whatever reason. I never took under 18 credits, all through undergrad.

Big congrats! (Although I am not at all surprised.)

        Please love yourself.

That is great! Too bad they’ll reduce that due to his melanin levels.

There’s a story behind that. It’s always been a priority of mine to get him operationally fluent in Spanish. He had a nanny from 1-5 who spoke to him exclusively in Spanish. He had group classes in first and second grade and a private tutor from 3rd grade on.

His elementary school had Spanish class twice a week for all grades.

Then middle school starts. It’s an IB program and is very formalized. It started back at basic Spanish. I listened in (this was Covid he was home) and they were learning basic numbers and colors.

So we switched him to Italian (which he was interested in) and we kept the tutoring up in Spanish another year or two.

His Italian teacher loves him and he got the only perfect score on the final last year.

His Spanish comprehension is quite good and only getting better. Keep in mind Mayla and I speak Spanish exclusively at home. He’s not comfortable speaking it but it’s more shyness than ability.

In Spain last week he insisted on having his own conversations- basic stuff like ordering food, asking the waiter questions, getting the burger without onions, where’s the bathroom, etc. Because as much as he doesn’t want to speak he is more embarrassed about the idea of me ordering for him.

                                      Only non-witches get due process.
