Trump's Taxes

Are you confessing to cowardice? You’ve never voted, right?
-
I think I voted once. If it was easy there's nothing that would have stopped me from voting for Trump in 2016 or 2020. There are things that would stop me from talking about it out loud, which you are free to consider cowardice or some level of a lack of courage, at your discretion. The reason I don't vote is a different vice - laziness.

The TDS crowd . . .
This nickname you have for people who dislike Trump doesn't bother me. It isn't any sillier than some of the names
weothers have coined for y'all. But it is entertaining, in a sadocomical way. So to show gratitude I have coined a TDS-style moniker to be applied to you:Frantic And Rooked over Trump
Actually, there is a TDS crowd on both sides:
Those who hate President Trump - Trump Derangement Syndrom
Those who love President Trump - Trump Deification SyndromNope. That is incorrect. It's not that we "love" the man, it's that we love our country and understand that Trump is fighting to protect it while the other side is trying to destroy it, and half the population is so busy pissing and moaning about how he says things they refuse to look at his accomplishments.
Our politicians, both parties, have been selling us out for decades. A few of them have tried to honor their oath, none were democrats, the few there have been are republicans. But by and large the majority of these politicians were after the same thing - to line their own pockets. The only fight was over which party would be in charge of us once the takeover was complete. While you and others were whining about how he said things and letting the media's narrative lead you around by the nose, Trump was busy kicking their asses and trying to undo the damage they'd done.
Yes, he can be crude. Yes he says too much sometimes. But he gets shit done. He kicks ass and takes names. I guess that's the first time some have experienced that. But it's time you grew up. You (the generic you) have 4 months. Decide whether you want to live in a Venezuela or if you want to keep the US a free nation.

Yes, the selection process begins and ends there, no need to go any further.
After 8 years of a president that didn't like the country, that was very important.

Horace - due to the pandemic, the California governor, said all voting is going to be done by mail. So, you should consider getting your vote in during this election.

Larry, I am sorry but I have to disagree with this. It is common to hear that "this person hates the country and wants to destroy it." I honestly believe that this is 100++++% false.
Your vision of the USA may not agree with theirs, and their vision may not agree with yours, but that does not mean that either side "hates" the country and wants to "destroy" it.
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE!
I believe that President Trump loves the USA and feels what he is doing is best for the country.
I believe that Vice President Biden loves the USA and feels what he is doing is best for teh country.
To claim otherwise is ridiculous.
Okay - rant over!!
-
TG, you can disagree with it all you want. It won't change the facts. You don't know a damned thing about what motivates Trump supporters. You have a narrative that's set in your head that you've made up out of whole cloth, and by golly you're not going to listen to anything that challenges that. You are wrong nonetheless, and if that pisses you off that's too bad. Your constant drumbeat of nonsense pisses me off too, because you're wrong more than you're right.
-
Progressivism makes no sense and has no messaging power unless it is based on a notion that things as they are, are unacceptable. Hatred of the country is built in to the foundations of the messaging, though of course nobody is eager to own that label, so they won't say it explicitly or anything. Maybe in private company among friends.
-
@Larry I think we just need to agree to disagree.
If I could stand in front of a group of people in 1820 and say the following:
woman should have the right to vote!!!
black people should have the same rights as white people!
woman should be allowed to go to college!!
Even if you do not own land, you should be allowed to vote!!
Native Americans should have the right to vote!!
etcI think some people would say - "Jennifer, you hate the US and are trying to destroy it!" Just because I had a different viewpoint, does not mean that I hate the country, and because others have a different viewpoint does not mean that they hate the country.
Larry, the impression you give to me is that anyone who disagrees with your view of the USA hates the country and wants to destroy it. And that I think is 100% false.
It is very possible (even probably) that that impression is incorrect, but that is the way you come across (to me). I apologize if I am misreading you.
Anyway, i am glad that we can disagree and "shake hands" afterwords. It helps me to learn something when hearing different viewpoints.

Taiwan Girl, I suppose you are correct. Or, you always seem to look on the bright side.
In terms of mainland China, I suppose it's also true that the communists love China, and Hong Kong and Taiwan need to feel the love as well. Or are you on the fence regarding that, as well? I mean, far left / communists, same thing, Marxism ideology whether one realizes it or not. And, tearing down statues etc., isn't that like Maoism, so that's OK too?
I'm just asking you rather directly, whether you have a double-standard or not. -

I'm just asking you rather directly, whether you have a double-standard or not. There are (small amount of) people in Taiwan who definitely want to integrate with mainland China.
I 100%+++ absolutely 100%++++ positive DISAGREE with them. And I would do what I can to prevent that from happening.
But, I do not think that they HATE Taiwan. They feel that joining with mainland China is the best thing for Taiwan. It may be wrong and I may strongly disagree, and I can work against them, but I would never say that they hate Taiwan. They want Taiwan to change and their "vision" of Taiwan is much different than mine.
Just like in the US. IF someone says that they want national healthcare, I do not think that they HATE the US and are trying to destroy it. Their vision is different than others - maybe right, maybe wrong.
I will agree that there are probably a small number of people in the US who do hate the country (example = 11 Sept bombers). But that is not the ones we are talking about in this thread.
To me, to say that Vice President Biden or President Obama HATES the country is just ridiculous.
They have as much love for the country as President Trump, as any of the Republic senators, as any of the Democrat senators, etc. Different visions but all love the country.

@taiwan_girl TG, As always, your comments are reasonable and rational, and I enjoyed reading them.
