It’s interesting how the normal random person one meets can’t write a complete coherent sentence.

She's young and Hispanic. I cut slack.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Not being a native speaker is a good excuse.

      Education is extremely important.

Usually I think about it like this: "Can I speak/write in her language as well as she speaks/writes in my language?"

That's a common apples to oranges comparison. The person asking themselves that is not typically living in a country with a dominant language other than their native one.

@George-K So she's happy with it now? I didn't under the "no fire" comment in the first post... like it works without catching fire? It compares to the Amazon Kindle Fire for Kids? It connects with a Firewire?

If she's happy with it, does that mean she already gave it to her kid?

Either way, I also thought it might be generous (if you trust her sincerity) to pick up the tab to help buy a "new" one for $250 from best buy, it's nice you (and Mik!) thought of that too.

Admittedly, I also judged about the 4 year old having an iPad concept, but you never know what someone is going through. Sure maybe it's just lazy, but she also could have other challenges (job, siblings with needs, etc) in which an electronic babysitter of an iPad is very helpful.

I am just glad that English is the world language and I have a working knowledge of it.

I might be happier if Mandarin Chinese or Taiwanese was the world language however. LOL

My answer would be a strong yes on both fronts and I’d still forgive it.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

It’s Christmas. Use the $110, kick in $140 and buy her kid a new iPad. Take the old one back and sell it again. Winning.
