I'm surprised "Gaza citizens" wasn't named as the Person of the Year!

Swift makes sense if you had to pick someone. Her tour dominated most of the year and SHATTERED records.

Personally, I would've voted for the Chinese Spy Balloon.

according to Rolling Stone, that's "breaking Far-Right brains":

Time "Magazine" also had Putin, Stalin, Ayatollah Khomeini, Greta Thunberg, and other monsters on the cover. So, there's a bit of consistency there.

Say what you want about Thunberg, but that immature young woman with OCD does not belong lumped in with those other bloodstained monsters.

She may be a witch but surely not a bloodthirsty demon.

But Taylor Swift…….yawn, who fooking cares…yawn.

I know, I know. I just thought it would be fun to include her.

I'd say that's practically a flex, although I'd be Jolly knows from football, not the tabloids.

"Flex" in this context refers to some kind of show off. "See I just mention this factoid here, it goes to show that I am smart/knowledgable, I know something you don't know."

On the other hand, the distinction means something different now.

A TIME Person of the Year used to be the single largest force of societal influence in one year, and reading the accompanying feature would enlighten you as to why in their estimation.

They're at a quarter of their circulation in the 90s and most of the hangers-on are dentist's offices. TIME's Person of the Year now means something like, "oh they're still doing those? Who'd they say this year? Ah ok."

                                  Please love yourself.
