Based on things posted here, I've come to the conclusion that Turley is just not that good. He's really sloppy. Often.

I first noticed this when he wrote a whole piece castigating Disney for not following the laws and filing requisite notice that they were holding the Reedy Creek meeting where they made the near-perpetual development deal with Disney. His piece made it sound like they were amateurs and DeSantis was gong to roll them in two minutes.

Of course he was wrong, and the best lawyers money can buy in Florida were right - who'd have guessed?

Did he apologize, issue a correction, make any comment at all?

Of course not. He was off to the next piece.

Any pundit writes a lot. As such, they are subject to being wrong, especially with 20/20 hindsight.

My BIL and SIL have been rabid avid Disney World goers for twenty years or so. Many staff members knew them by name. On their last trip they just said it's completely unmanageable in every way - financial, crowding, inability to find a place to eat. They won't be back.

Weird they have that impression now and not before Covid given those attendance stats above. You’d think it would have been more pleasant these last couple of years.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

From my experience it’s mostly due to how the crowd is being managed, not the actual numbers. There have been significantly more attractions closed for repair, and fewer staff assisting in shops/restaurants. It’s very easy for fewer people to still feel more crowded if it’s not managed properly. Plus the staff has not seemed as competent and friendly, which reflects on management, hiring, training, and maintenance.

If you have gone there in 2020 or 2021, then go back this year you would see a huge increase in attendance. But that is an increase from greatly decreased attendance.

Guy I work with is an ex Disney animator. He worked on Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, basically every film during Disney's second renaissance. He visited Disney in Orlando for the first time a year back. He shared a shortened video of him walking around the park. He knew the source of nearly everything they had in every section of the park—who made the thing on the wall, what sketch it was based on, what the idea was.

It was great hearing him talk about those things. The magic and wonder they started with. Not the shitshow the park has unfortunately become.

                    Please love yourself.

There’s another part of it as well. It’s not just the quality of the service that’s impacting the experience. It’s also the quality of the guests. The crowds are just generally uglier these days. Ready to take offense over any imagined slight, and ready to let EVERYBODY know their feelings about it. Also, with the exorbitant price tags compounded with the stress of the last few years, some families demand that they have THE PERFECT VACATION and stress themselves out over it. When it doesn’t turn out perfect, they just bring everyone (including cast and other guests) down with them.

No, I'm talking about the songwriter. Chris Lunsford.

Sorry, the quote is just too deep.

It’s about fat entitled people at Disney World.

The ugly refers to both the weight and the behavior.

But I think you know that.

So we decided to watch a Christmas Movie on Disney+ last night called Naughty Nine. Think Ocean’s Eleven with kids trying to break into Santa’s workshop. We figured that it would be fun for Finley. We made it 10 minutes before we shut it off.

Right off the bat one of the main characters introduced her two dads who were very physical. Then they introduced the gay 12-13 year old boy that was the worst frigging stereotype of a flamboyant gay man, who was flirting with adult men.

I don’t think they got the message about messaging.
