Hey Larry, are you still in the business?

Do you happen to know how royalties are determined for a cover song? I assume it's whatever it's worth to the cover band, but wonder if there is a percentage involved for how many copies are sold.
But there are no copies, it's all internet. hmmm. I guess that's why I'm asking the question.

I know nothing about drumming, but is the way the drummer in the first video holding the drumsticks the normal way. Look at the 25 seconds mark.

It looks weird, and I am not sure why. Almost like he is holding a pencil with his left hand. LOL

I am a little. Mostly I've retired from it. As for the royalties, I never got too involved with that.. but there are several types of royalties involved. Each one would have to be hammered out by 5 or 6 sets of attorneys representing the various interests involved, and that's going to be different in most every situation.

Now - the joke we used to tell the various attornies... why do lawyers wear neckties... so their foreskin won't creep up and choke them to death....

Just listen to the drum break before the bridge. The original tasteful, musical, and even reminiscent of a Gene Krupa. The remake was just trying to show off. Plus no horn section, and no low harmonies on that middle section....

I was going to use the word raw, too. Glad to see you picked up on the same thing.

I got the feeling that the group Whitesnake didn't even understand the song's storyline, or for that matter, the music.

              ....HOW??????

              F'ing Injun...

But the original has a "rawness" that the remake lacks. The remake sounds sanitized and just a bit "cleaner." That's not better of course. It just sounds processed. No, dare I say, "soul."

Okay, that sounds like you're saying what I said. Which rendition are you talking about here?

Is this thread some grotesque attempt at gaslighting?

If it is Whitesnake, and i doubt that it is, it wouldn't be the first time David Coverdale didn't understand the music he was trying to vocalise.

@Renauda the title says "White Lion" whoever the hell they are were.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Just opened this thread. Cats, I really like Radar Love because at the time it came out my love lived 40 miles away. It really related to how we communicated when long distance calling was out of the question. We are still in contact to this day.

I was FB friends with somebody named Coverdale - she's related to the great man, but only, as she is very quick to point out, by marriage. I think she unfriended me when she remembered who I was from school 😥

                        I was only joking
