It's almost as if conservatives were really keen on having massively wealthy corporations fund political candidates and then suddenly realised that a lot of modern companies have increasingly become aligned with more liberal politics.

What I can see doing, is capping the money. Not a play cap, but something hard to work around, with big, pointy teeth for trying.
