Yes, good luck Mark with the new application!

The recruiter ghosted me and would never respond to emails or voice mail.
After a couple of months, I called the company direct to find out that the position had been filled.
What an asshole.
I assume the recruiter gets a bonus for the hire - no hire, no bonus. So, why bother to get back to you?

Smarter recruiters know that the better positions (read: better bonuses) draw from a much smaller pool, and an unplaced experienced hire now is just better money in the bank later if you keep working for them.
Most recruiters are not smart.

Good luck, Mark!
I would not want to work for a company where the interviewer does not let applicants know the outcome of the job search. What goes around comes around.
It's different when recruiters are involved. The company talks to them and if you didn't get it they will not even put the time in to call you generally.

Yeah, it's on the recruiter at that point.

@mark Good luck. Thought luck is "opportunity meeting skill" and I think you will have both.
Re: recruiters -would be nice if they had the courtesy to somehow let you know the position had been filled. As others have said, what goes around comes around.

Am I just impatient? It's been a week since I took the CCAT evaluation and personality profile. I know I did well on the CCAT. I did get the automated results of the personality profile and didn't see any red flags.
Crickets.
My HR person had to wait 8 months to get any word back about her current job. 8 months and absolutely nothing, then she was hired.
That's a little extreme, but sadly it's not at all uncommon to wait awhile these days. It really depends, company to company.
I'd say a full week is time enough in which it's more than reasonable to follow up.

A week isn't much time to wait these days. It's likely percolating through the process. But it's also not too soon to follow up.

An update.
I got a job! I started this past Wednesday, May 1st. I went to two interviews last month for two different companies within 25 minutes of home. Both were full time, on-site.
My new position is Network Engineer/Manager. I am managing a team of eight Network/Infrastructure/Cyber Security engineers at a small MSP. The company's main focus is enterprise printers and copiers. They started the MSP division a couple of years ago and currently manage 19 IT customers. They have almost 300 customers in the printer/copiers realm.
Very well established and stable. I had a great first 3 days and after taking most of the cyber security tests, I am #2 in the company in test scores. I only need 2 points to tie the first place employee. I will be #1 come Monday. I still have a few tests to take and that should raise my score significantly.
It's different having to wake up and get ready then drive to an office but I'm liking it so far.
