Are you guys even bothering to test anymore?

Feel like crap for the past 48 hours… Actually am a little worse today than yesterday. Fever went from 100.3 to 101.5, causing chills on top of the rest…
So the symptoms match everything from a cold to influenza to COVID. No matter which it is, the general treatment is the same… Rest, hydration, etc… Don’t go back to work until symptoms are gone for 24-48 hours. Is there any reason why I should bother getting swabbed?

I test every time.
Never get a positive.

Do you have DIY rapid test handy? If not, I wouldn’t bother and keep doing what you’re doing. If the fever persists or starts going up after 72 hours, might be worth calling the doc.

My FIL is high risk (older, kidney transplant, currently has low white bloodcell count) so if we have symptoms we'll test before we visit. I think it's prudent to test based on the risks of those you'll be around. That being said, I have taken maybe 2 tests in the last 3 years.

Mrs. Phibes has me test after I've traveled with work. If I feel ill, I test. I've never tested positive. I'm pretty sure I've had it at least once, but maybe I'm just a super-human.
I hardly ever get sick, but when I do I make one hell of a fuss about it. Or so I'm told.

I test. If I’m positive there are things I do to protect people I care about.
I’m isolating. I don’t want my wife to catch a flu, either.

When I had covid in April, the first and only time (so far), my symptoms were mostly gone after a couple of days but I tested positive for almost three weeks. I took certain precautions during that time. Without testing I wouldn’t have had.
It helps that I have loads of tests that are always about to expire. The GF is a teacher in NYC and they send her home with many.

That’s how I see it. I stay home if I’m sick regardless.

Not you dying is one of them.
Probably top of the list.
Probably.
