    Can she defeat Teh Donald?

One hopes, but it might be wishful thinking on the editorial boards' part.

I missed the column by George Will asking Scott to drop out and support Haley.

Let her get closer. What polls say and what people will do in the primaries if there is a choice may be very different. Especially with a woman at the helm.

She's certainly a lot more likeable and charismatic than DeSantis, and it goes without saying she'd be a lot less divisive than Captain Chaotic.

I don't know much about her actual policies - not sure if this is important?

        I was only joking

DeSantis is not a good campaigner, at least not nationally. In that respect, Trump is very good. It's going to take a lot to beat him in the primaries.

I don't think it can be done.

I don't think DeSantis can do it. He's just not different enough. Both men will have administrations that consist of unnecessary conflicts.

I think Haley can. I certainly hope so.

That would be smart if they don’t want a repeat of the 2016 primary plurality path that Trump used to win.

                Indeed.

My sense of it is that while I hate the persecution Trump encountered, I still don't want him back in office. I suspect a whole lot of other people feel the same way.

Don't know if that would work, even if they cleared the field. Nationally, Trump is at 59% in the nafional averages...

But can he win? I have serious doubts. If he doesn't, he's seriously damaged the party. It's time for him to go.

The only thing that matters right now is if he can/will win the GOP nomination.

Disagree. Of course, I think he will hurt the party if he wins both too.

There is no doubt that large factions of the self righteous, bloodthirsty left, are hoping he is their opponent. The good vs evil messaging will be thick in the atmosphere, and all the usual suspects will take their opportunity to sneer and condemn and punish all the bad people. They also assume they will win the election.

                                          Elbows up!
