It's Monday! What's for dinner?
-
MFR is out of town so tonight is bachelor night. All of which means I can fix something spectacular she would not like. Since I brought back a couple of my very favorite Oregon pinot noirs and have lots of cherries (my very favorite snack), I thought this was in order:
Seared duck breast with cherries and port wine.

You can save yourself a lot of trouble if you skip the duck and put the cherries in a big snifter and pour the wine over.
No. Just no.

Looks great. I used our air fryer over the weekend for some delicious brined chicken, and today I'm using a similar brine to air fry some random frozen pork I found in the freezer. I'm using some good maple syrup for the sweet part of the brine.
I don't have one of those yet. Might consider it. Things turn out well?

Stuck at work. I’ll grab a kickin chicken pizza and a beer from a local place with a nice big empty patio

Once I had my nap I was not in the mood to cook a spectacular dinner so I went freezer diving. Found a ribeye cap roast I had forgotten about. Probably in there at least three years. Defrosted it, cut it into three 4 ounce steaks and pan seared one. Ambrosia.
