Where does rescuing the hostages fall in terms of priority? Is that the first priority? Or is preventing future attacks the primary priority?

They would rather their own people not have adequate water in order to make weapons to kill Jews. Do you honestly believe that the hostages will fare well even if food and supplies are coming in? For that matter, do you think the supplies will even go to the people? Or will it go to those oh so brave Hamas Freedom Fighters to stay strong for the fight?

Of course I don’t think the hostages will fare well. I’m speculating on the specific ways their captors will extract propaganda value from them.

I think the best chance for getting them back alive is to fight hard and brutally enough that Hamas sees the possibility for their own extinction. Lightening up won’t do it.

If they’re culturally programmed to want to die for the cause, it doesn’t make them pathological. Just programmed. Humans can be whatever they’re raised to be.

It's the rank and file that want to be martyrs. I'd be you didn't see any of the leaders paragliding in. They want the power. Extinction will matter to them.
