As I've mentioned, Mrs. George and I have taken all our care downtown. It's nice having all the docs there, and traveling (not in rush hour) is only about 15 min longer that it was with out old primary care guy.

Mrs. George had her cataracts done about 18 months ago by Dr. D. Dr. D. is smart, personable, quick and takes time to explain things. Based on that , I made an appointment to see her last year. EVeyrthing is fine, and I really liked her (she's cute, too...).

So, it was time for our follow-up visits this September - we were about 2 weeks apart in our visits. 4 weeks ago, Mrs. George got a call saying that Dr. D was unavailable for "medical reasons" and Mrs. George was rescheduled to March. No big deal, it's just a routine followup after her cataracts, and the usual geezer stuff. I found it interesting, however, that I didn't get a call to reschedule. Hmmm...

So, I had an appointment with Dr. D yesterday at 10:15. We arrived on time, and the nurse told us that Dr. Z will be seeing me soon.

"What? I had an appointment with Dr. D."

    "She's not in today."

Well Dr. Z did her thing, after explaining that "I'm seeing Dr. D's patients for her today.

I had no problem with the exam, etc., but I was kind of pissed that I would be seeing a different doc with no heads up.

Yeah, that only clarified his status.
