          Wow, no, I can't imagine how that works, but if you're rich enough to hire everything done, I suppose you can hire someone else to both imagine it and figure out how to make it work. πŸ˜„

            It almost looks like it's for a complex of some sort. That's a lot of garages.

                Could be that there is a heating system underneath to thaw the ice and snow, but any salt would be a non-no.

                      If it's porous pavement, the point wouldn't be to have grass. The point would be the drainage you're talking about.

                        I think that kind of pavement was somewhat common in Boston. At least it looks familiar to me.

                        I agree, I think it is done for drainage.
