Note how excited the young lady is about the incident. To her, victimization by a fascist government, is a fashion statement.

    Education is extremely important.

I guess they can go take their case to the Tribal Council.

          They didn't run over anyone.

But IMO blocking access to public throughfares is not legitimate peaceful protest.

              https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2023/aug/28/burning-man-protest-climate-change-environment

Lots more background and context for the incident.

              Concerning the protesters' mindsets:

[a protester commented] that the tech utopianism woven into Burning Man culture had engendered a sense of complacency amongst many of its attendees. “There are a lot of people thinking, oh, I’m a vegan, I drive an electric car, I’m working in sustainability,” she said. “ It’s a very technocratic, privileged mindset.”
              .
... – the activists hoped the protest would highlight how our climate emergency requires wider systemic change is needed beyond the personally transformative experiences of self-realization that can occur at a festival.

And this struck me as rather observant:

“The climate movement has reached a point where there is a split between climate mitigation through technological fixes, and climate justice that’s more oriented around systemic inequalities,” said [another protester]. “We have to shift away from Burning Man’s green capitalism and focus on degrowth.”

All that talk on the protesters' mindsets and philosophies is...interesting.

But their right to protest ends where my right to freedom of travel begins.

Love it. The police should quickly and forcefully remove and arrest any protester blocking a road. It's not peaceful if you are in the middle of the road blocking someone's right to travel.

                    Forcefully?

If that one idiot hadn't quit walking towards that cop, he'd have forcefully shot her ass.

                      Read the thread.

"Y'all know you haven't done the proper warnings?" said one of the climate activists in handcuffs, having expected three warnings and a chance to avoid arrest.

"We don't have to," an officer told her before all of them, including their police liaison, were taken away.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
