First respectable burrito in 40 years.

Seriously. We’re in Flagstaff tonight and I found a place nearby that makes Chile relleno burritos, a favorite of mine from living in LA. I am in 7th heaven. Been telling people for years that there are no proper burritos east of the Rockies.

What makes it?

Just like a great burger - greater than the sum of its parts. In this case perfect beans, sauce and a great Chile relleno.

Had one for the first time when I was in LA last month.

They have the right formula. Minimum menu items, each one done well. Makes it less complicated.

I really don’t get the love of in-n-out burgers. They are a slightly above average fast food place and not on the same level as a Five Guys or Smash Burger…

I've only done them once, when D4 and I were in San Francisco. It was a tasty, competent, burger. But nothing spectacular.
