“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

Somewhere out there an American Leo Amery is growing infuriated over what is being done to America.

And if he finally stands up like Amery to call out our bankrupt political class, the American people will echo his famous order to this disastrous government:

“Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go.”

Grab a listen to Ramaswamy and consider whether he's an Emery figure.

The Pentagon’s woke agenda trumps meritocracy in promotions and advancement.

The Biden renegade Department of Justice, CIA and FBI have become weaponized. Ideology, politics, and race—not the law—more often guide their investigations, intelligence operations and enforcement.

To even say there are still two biological genders, that global warming may not be entirely manmade or necessarily destroying the planet, or that class, not race, is the proper barometer of inequality is to face ostracism and career cancellation.

These are all fair points, and yet a conservative reaction against them is framed as 'conservative reactionaries, inventing a culture war out of whole cloth, and obsessing over it'.

The reason that framing sounds plausible to the leftist masses, is that all of those culture war initiatives are completely mainstream and institutionalized now. They are not the front lines of any culture war, but rather the status quo. How could the institutionalized status quo be an offensive in a culture war?

I would wonder about this. The three named departments are huge huge agencies with an ingrained culture developed over many years. I am not sure that in 2 years, the culture could be changed that quickly. Anybody here who has worked for a government organization or large corporation - difficult to change the culture over night.

Nobody is claiming the change was in the past two years. The culture in question goes back a decade or so.

If there is this "pivot" going on, what was happening during the four years of President Trump?

Some people are under the impression that the institutional cultures in those agencies were largely against him. How about you, do you think they were all supportive of their CEO? That the culture is one of service to their boss, whomever that boss may be? That would be an interesting perspective.

I don't think so in US companies or agencies. If you have a long time employee (20 year plus) and a new CEO comes in, I think the time to change the mind of that person.

And in a goverment agency when there is a new "CEO" every four years or so, it will be even more difficult.

The employee will say, "This head of the agency will be gone in XX years. I will still be here. Etc "

I have experience (direct and indirect) with a number of government agencies. I can tell you at FBI and others there is most certainly a paramount culture of service towards the country as well as respective the executive (President) regardless of party. This includes during Trump’s term. That being said, Trump’s antics towards the latter part of his term was usually met with eye rolls in the hallway or over lunch, but nonetheless employees carrying out their duties as normal.

Indeed the idea that agencies have been “weaponized” is mainly a catchy characterization to rally those on the right or just to get clicks. Nothing nefarious of the sort is happening. Looking back in 10 or 20 years and the only stories you’ll remember are Covid and the Trump refusal to accept his election loss.

“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok responded.

Where I work, the rank and file could sometimes be heard randomly bleating out "fuck Trump!" in widely attended meetings, if a random conversational context called for it.
