California Dreaming

Just got back from a couple of weeks in Los Angeles and Sandiego (mostly in LA). First time I had been there in about 2 years. Some impressions:
You dont see as many homeless people. I dont know what they are doing with them, but there are much less on the streets, blocking the sidewalks, in the parks, etc. Not 100% disappeared, but better than before.
The Metro system now has "ambassadors" at most stations. Not security, but at least they give an "illusion" of authority. They dont carry weapons etc., but I suppose they help discourage the minor stuff. If someone is going to do something really bad, i doubt they would be able to help. But, it is an improvement.
Road a lot of public transport. Buses were all pretty good. Subway was so-so. Some lines, I felt quite comfortable. Others, I was happy to get off and avoid in the future. (For example: I did step in vomit on the floor of a train car! Ugh!!!!!!!!)
Lots of rich people in Beverly Hills. LOL Seemed like every other car was a Roll Royce, Porsche, etc. (Lots of Tesla's everywhere in CA).
Anyway, not my favorite city, but it was better than two years ago.
Some pictures
Hiked up to the Hollywood sign. Fun hike.
Getty Museum garden. Wow - what a great museum, both inside and out. If you are interested in classic Europe painting, they do a great job. And the gardens outside are fantastic also. Plus, it is all free!!!!
Warner Studio lot.
Bonus point if you know this picture!!!! 555
Muscle Beach in Venice CA (FYI, there used to be tons of homeless here, but all gone now.)
Torrey Pine Park

We went to LA last year, and it was a lot nicer than I expected. I really like San Diego. I go there from time to time with work. It's a great place to eat when somebody else is paying.
