Nor have I. I have a stash of about 8 60-watt floods in a closet. Sadly, the ones in the kitchen refuse to burn out.

Didn't someone else already try this? Mr. Clinton maybe.
Somehow it got turned around, I can't remember why, a jurisdiction problem maybe, or it was just a stupid idea or at the time there weren't enough led bulbs in the world.

Can we forget politics for a second?
LED bulbs last WAY longer and are much CHEAPER to use. No brainer. Who cares about the politics? If you spend a few more bucks per bulb you'll more than save that in electricity costs each month and year.
Like the DOC said, I almost only buy LED bulbs these days.
That being said, the inability to buy incandescent (presuming that is true, I haven't checked) is a bit sad. If not from a historical perspective, but from a freedom/consumer perspective.
Although last winter I tried using incandescent christmas lights outdoors and they were so damn fragile that I used LED versions. Will never go back.

I don't think banning them is really a good idea. I'd much rather Congress focused on something important, such as adopting the metric system or reinstating the monarchy and/or Windows 98. As Joe says, God save the Queen!

@taiwan_girl I have about a dozen 65 watt incandescent flood lights in a closet.
I keep waiting for the installed ones to burn out, but they are stubborn, and refuse to do so.

Yeah, I also have a small stash of incandescent bulbs (including a three-way bulb for which I have never seen an LED equivalent); I bought them well over a decade ago. I only use them in very few spaces where I want to be able to dim the light down to a very faint glow. When it comes to dimming, incandescent can still dim much more than LED can.

I have some dimming LED bulbs and the problem I have is that the amperage(?) (maybe something other than amperage) going through the circuit causes the LED to "flicker" at low dim light.
Has anybody else experienced this?

Yes, that’s a fairly common problem with LED lights when it comes to dimming.

Yes, that’s a fairly common problem with LED lights when it comes to dimming.

@Axtremus Thanks. Interesting article (the parts that I could understand 555), but it appears that there is not a easy solution to the problem for me.

@taiwan_girl There is no good, commercially available solution that I know of at this time. Just need to wait for the technology to catch up.
