I find it interesting and a great use of retired, to be scrapped containers.

I've seen many of these types of installations, but never one quite as creative as what you posted.
Presumably, since they're thin-walled, insulation etc, might be a consideration. OTOH, since they are so thin, plumbing and electrical might be easier to do.

@Georeg brings up good points. I would also wonder how sound insulation is and if it would be noisy.

Pretty much. There are dealers everywhere, at least down here.
The two most common uses I see are for storage and for hunting camps. They're great for camps, because they can be locked up to where they are hard to break into and they can't be easily burned.

The Container Store is a retail establishment with a few stores in VA and other states, none in LA.
