Stefan Molyneux kicked off YouTube

He began 14 years ago. I used to watch him frequently, he had some very good presentations bordering on boring, as he brought forth facts and data in a powerpoint style presentation. He had a couple of million subscribers, thousands of videos. Frankly, I got bored with him, and he seemed to have an ego that could not refuse to continuously grow.
YouTube decided to cut him off today.

This bothers me a lot. It's not like there is an alternative. Yeah, bitchute, but it's so inferior.

I do wish there was some way to fight back against the Masters of the Universe i.e., Google, etc.

There is (almost) no reason for censorship. Shoot all the messengers, control the world.

Sad - if anything, I think there’s more and more room for “free-speech focused” platforms to emerge.

I’d support them as a matter of principle.

It’s a tough line to thread though, else you end up at 4-Chan.

I hadn't heard of him other than the influence he had on one of the subjects in early episodes of The Rabbit Hole podcast. Nonetheless, it's a weird slippery slope area. Sure, I think companies can decide what content to allow or remove, but we're also in a new (virtual) "public square" where the rules aren't the same as maybe a local coffee shop deciding which artists are allowed to perform.

Scotty Kilmer is a mechanic, and has one of the most popular Youtube channels. He's quite the character, very "old school" in terms of honesty, and speaking his mind.

He mentioned that he has now passed the billionth viewer on his channel, and has 2 million subscribers. Maybe it was only 1 million.

At any rate, he mentioned that he has made over 7 million dollars off of YouTube over the years.

That's why a guy like Molyneux pleads for people to send him money, since demonetization is a killer. Bret Weinstein, Dave Rubin, and many others depend on their work making Youtube videos, it's a major source of income.

Tim Pool mentioned today that it's only a matter of time until YouTube pulls the plug on his channel, since YouTube has already demonetized most of his videos. How would you like your boss to say, "I don't like what you said this week, so no payment until you smartly decide to agree to our ideology."

Also may be that Joe Rogan saw this all coming, so he will be going to Spotify and earning millions. I'm sure Rogan will gladly flip off YouTube, on his way to greener grass.
