This is why we can't have gas stoves.

My potted fig trees aren't growing due to the heat. The one in the ground is doing ok.

Thanks Cats. From what I've read, when soil temperature gets and stays above 95 degrees, fig trees stop growing. It's unclear whether fruits stop ripening. We will see. Got lots of unripe figs on those branches. If it just diverts all its energy to the fig ripening, I suppose not growing isn't the worst thing in the world.
It seems breed dependent. I have a potted Violette de Bordeaux tree which has completely stopped growing, and a potted Celeste tree which is growing well, along with the LSU tree in ground which is also growing.
I took the temperature of the soil in the pots, and it's 95+. The ground soil temperature is only 90 a few inches down.

Have you tried adding ice to the soil? Or put up a fan blowing towards the tree?

That sounds too complicated. Instead, I will install a walk-in cooler around the trees, and cut a hole in the top, to let sunlight in. That side of the house is pretty far away from the nearest electrical outlet, but luckily my neighbor has an outlet close by which I can use.
