Most of us are probably fixated on a certain lost submarine with deficient workmanship, but meanwhile, I hung a 115 pound TV on a wall mount only rated for 85 pounds. Stay tuned!AD913B9E-D827-4C17-BB13-7F990ACD42FD.jpeg

115 lb? How big is that sucker?

Nice install, by the way. Happy with the soundbar?

Thanks George! It’s 85 inches. And it’s not a sound bar, that’s just a big wood block mantel.

Here's hoping you don't hear a nice crash in the middle of the night! Otherwise it looks good. If you ever wanted to use your white privelege and buy a new tv purely for the weight, the 85" Samsung QLED is 98 pounds and the 83" LG OLED is 71 pounds.

Fun fact, Apple sometimes intentionally adds deadweight to their products, because heft is good for marketing.

Analog inputs have been non binary since before it was cool.

Still up, and I'm not worried at all. I was careful to avoid hitting any wood studs behind the drywall, with the anchor screws. I know that can destabilize the home's frame.

Also added a pullup bar to the top of the TV, so I can work out while I watch movies.
