yeah I'm unconcerned with a Biden presidency. Though the tax cuts will be repealed. That'll be totally worth the money it will cost me, just for the I-told-you-so to TG and Xenon as I point to the market indexes as they respond to the tax changes.

Spoiler alert - I’d expect the market indices to change, especially to a corporate tax rate change.

The biggest effect that’ll have is the stock market and longer term capital formation (though in an environment in which money was as cheap as it was during the last tax cut - curious to see what the actual uptick in corporate investment was).

Very important things - but not things that’ll change the sort term trajectory of an economy in a massive way.

Let’s not derail this topic with the same debate though - I think our disagreement is a matter of degrees and not fact.

Point is you can bet on it if that's your view.

I think his loss will be historic in nature. Kiss the Senate goodbye too.

The consolation prize for the GOP is Biden as Prez which will look like Gore 2.0. - and moderate in policy.

@Loki except that Biden won't be calling the shots. Should he win, by the time he's sworn in he will barely know where he is. Others will be making the decisions. Even then, I don't think he will make it the full 4 years. I think he might make it a year before they declare him incapable and install his VP.

Some people seem to think if Biden wins the country will just pretty much go on like normal. It will not. We are already coming apart at the seams, if the democrats get control of the White House or the Senate either one, you can forget your investments.

Recently saw an article from Gary Cohn who said that the company tax cuts that were done were probably lower than needed. He feels it could be raised up to 28% (currently lowered to 21%) and it would be okay in his mind.

Yes you could find people who think corporate tax rates should be any number up to and including 100%. I'm not even interested in arguing about the "best" rate, I have only ever made the humble claim that such things are important, and within the scope of a president to personally have an effect on.

              Education is extremely important.

Tell me about this "consolation prize" after Biden puts AOC in charge of our energy policy, adds back a bunch of the regulations Trump cut that got the economy going again, raises taxes, and takes us back to giving our ass away to China again.

                Jesus H. Christ.

The only consolation prize I can think of is that I WILL get to rub your noses in it and say I told you so when the conversations here become about whose house got looted and where can you find a can of beans...

It seems pretty clear to me that the pop culture base of the left is entirely unconcerned with holding the platform to any standards of reason. Im just sort of hoping that they get bogged down in all the politics. And it is a small consolation that at least it's not Bernie or Warren.

It was Trump’s to lose and is doing just that. June is where he jumped the shark. So you should look at that. It’s great to trust your gut and it’s worked well, but June is where he drowned in his own bath water. I have to believe Stephen Miller played a big hand it.

I can't imagine any democrat anywhere getting even one vote this year.

But I have been wrong before.

OK, maybe a few votes in California or Boston, but that's it.

Yeah. Seriously. Something not known will have to come out for Trump to win.

Not wearing masks is going to wreck the economy again, Trump’s silent majority will be small and his antics will look like crap when he has no recent successes to point to. Trump fatigue will be the tag line to the loss.

It’s the economy stupid and your no mask club is going to tank you. Big time.

The polls now are not the issue, it’s where they are headed and your tweets have no predictive powers these days.

Trump will close some the gap, and he will perform better than polls suggest, just like 2016. Will it be enough to win in November? Not sure. Depends how the economy is doing, really...aka low COVID cases. I think BLM will backfire (on BLM) and help galvanize some of his base, while not netting many new Biden supporters.

A Biden win by itself isn’t the worst thing compared to other Dem offerings. But he’s old and losing it mentally...and his win will result in a SCOTUS noms, as well as set up his VP nicely for 2024.

I’m not that afraid of the progressive loonie bunch.

There’s lots of moderately conservative people voting dem. Minorities can skew pretty conservative.

I think those constituencies outweigh the truly loonie left (but the loonie left has more mouthpieces and the right LOVES to elevate them).

This is partly why Biden is the nominee.

Part of the problem is settling for a moron like Trump to champion conservatism. I’ve got to believe there’s a cool headed, persuasive voice on the right that can drive more real conservative talk and still be sympathetic to the left.

Why would the right need to elevate loonies on the left when the looniest sort of lefty is already elected to national office and media darlings of the MSM?
