There are a few problems with the new forum (V3) version.

    • Tweet embedding does not work as it should.
    • Jon is having trouble with his login.
    • Maybe more issues I don't remember or that haven't been reported.

I don't know which of these issues I can fix, and how long this will take. Maybe it's also related to the fact that
we are not using the "default" theme of NodeBB V3, which is presumably the one that has the least number of bugs.
(recall that I changed the theme to our old theme because people generally didn't like the new theme)

We can't stick with the old forum version (V2) forever, because things will stop being maintained, e.g. security fixes.

However, I could roll back to V2 for a couple of weeks or months until, hopefully, all relevant bugs have been addressed.

We'd loose the posts of the last 24 hours or so.

And it means that we'd have to go through a migration again at a later point.

    Opinions?

I say keep this version and roll with the punches. The devs behind it seem very responsive and any issues we have now will probably be addressed without too much delay.

I really have no problem other than the small bugs which will get swatted.

However, I wonder why @jon-nyc is having problems.

          I thought the @jon-nyc issue was a feature, not a bug… 🤷

Hmmm, Jon or a mobile search function that actually works… 😛

I'm with Mark. It's important to keep software up to date if you intend to keep using it indefinitely. Muti-version upgrades can be problematic.

A new board look deserves a new board slogan, and that one works pretty well!

                I was only joking
