@Horace said in Tim Scott enters the race:

There would be a great deal of cultural goodness in a black Republican who said MLK style things.

No. Everyone knows that he is the black face of white supremacy.

No. Everyone knows that he is the black face of white supremacy.

A sufficiently skilled speaker could put a dent in the progressive white female narratives about how their parents and their offspring are evil. The president has the conch.

    Education is extremely important.

We had a previous governor that liked black face. It didn't work.

Any GOP candidate knows this is the year for an easier chance at the presidency. Whether you're Youngkin, or Scott, or Phibes.

Why? On the left... Biden is old as fuck, shuffles around like he's looking for an open pickleball game, his presidential record is yawning at best, and military/economy poisoning at worst. Kamala can't laugh her way out of her Indian-Irish-Jamaiican-married-white oh sorry I got distracted... out of her rambling uninspiring ways. Hillary would be embarrassing to try again. Maybe there's a dark horse, melanin notwithstanding, that comes out on the left but it seems they're reluctantly putting their chips on the Biden number.

If Trump stick around, and who doesn't like a headline like Trump, he'll really put a damper on what could be an exciting GOP field. I've long said Haley is a good VP pick, but I could see Scott too. Hard to imagine it being anyone but DeStantis presuming Trump is somehow removed by choice or not.

If Trump is nominated, we'll get to watch Biden swear in again and probably quit 2 years in to give it to Kamala.

He didn’t say that he’s not interested, he said he’s focused on Virginia right now. That was a few months back…

It may have to do with DeSantis. Maybe he’s keeping his toes in the water just in case DeSantis doesn’t run.

Trump is going to be nominated. DeSantis is polling the best of his opponents (20%) and he's at less than half of Trump's numbers.

In May of 2015 Jeb was dominating the polls. In May of 2007, Hillary had the nomination locked.

We're essentially a year from the primaries. Anything can happen.

Will the party have the discipline to consolidate around a single Trump competitor?

The Dems did it in 2020, preventing a potential President Sanders.

                            Can the GOP?

                              Nope.

                              Trump's base is too big.

I bet Christie leaves soon and endorses Haley. That would leave Ramasmarmy and DeSantis. Hard to imagine them leaving soon.
