    One of the best photos of this cycle I have seen. I have seen a few on reddit from Madison, WI, but none of them look as spectacular as this one from Alaska.

    I have not been lucky enough to have clear skies here.

        Great pic. The inclusion, whether on purpose or not, of the person, as well as the distance lake/mountains really adds to the photo. I haven't tried to go see them lately... too tired with kids at night, but one day I hope to catch them. Never seen them in person.

                See them a lot up here especially late autumn. But they can appear any season.

                Have seen some spectacular shows over the years a couple not unlike that photo from Alaska.
