Interesting. I think it's slightly being overanalyzed as kids DGAF and just want to have fun. That being said... when they showed this tree, wow it brought back memories of climbing trees, sometimes relatively skinny trees, a good 75-100 feet in the air as a kid. Of course, I was a kid, didn't question my climbing skills, and had a thrill. As a parent of kids today, I'd have a heart attack if I saw my sweet 4 year old girl climb on a tree so high and watch it sway back and forth.

What's funny is even on the "safest" playground you'll still find that slide that is 300 degrees in the sun.

In Brooklyn around the time the boy was using them they put in some new equipment that was impossible to touch in any sun at all. It’s as if it had been designed as a solar heat capture device.
They ended up building big shades over it.
