    I've seen a couple of things online questioning whether this kid did all the leaking or if this has been a controlled leak op, done on purpose...

        The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

            Might want to dig a little deeper. There are some legitimate questions surfacing about how this kid knew what he knew, at the level he supposedly was at.

                There is really nothing to defend here. The smart idiot or the system. Arguably both fucked up in their own way. The only common denominator is - unintended consequences.

                So no, Jolly, there was no deep state conspiracy. Just a lot of stupidity and benign negligence stemming from unknown unknowns.

                  You don't know that and neither do I. As has been pointed out in this thread, classified stuff is leaked to the news media all of the time. And it wouldn't be the first time a Federal agency leaked something for cause.

                  So, the question becomes how much of this classified information would this low-level airman have access to, in the normal course of things? Did he have access to more than he should and why? Did he post everything on-line, he was purported to have posted or did he have a little help? Either way, what
                  American policies are affected by this leak? And who benefits by the change in these policies?

                  Oh, I have lots of questions before I'm thoroughly convinced there is no there, there.

                    @Jolly

                    When I served as a Reservist officer in the 1980s classified INT was pushed in the direction of junior officers from above. Since the Gulf War it is my understanding that classified INT is made available from above and pulled by users with clearance. There are, I am told, sound reasons for that change. Do I agree with it? Don’t know because it was not the procedure that I knew and understood.

                    So yeah I don’t know. But I am confident the kid is not a patsy for an imagined deep state conspiracy. So stop the bogus deflections and attempts to defend his ineptitude for the job.

                                    Court marshell trail of Jack Teixeira

                                    Jack Teixeira, the Massachusetts Air National Guard member who caused an international uproar when he leaked highly classified documents about the war in Ukraine, used his court-martial Thursday to describe himself as a “proud patriot” who was only “exposing and correcting the lies perpetuated by the Biden administration.”

                                    After pleading guilty to military charges of obstructing justice, the 23-year-old acknowledged he knew his actions were illegal but felt he needed to share the truth about how the Biden administration was misleading the American public about the war in Ukraine.

                                    “If I saved even one American, Russian or Ukrainian life against this senseless money-grab war, my punishment was worth it,” he said, his politicized comments a stark contrast to the contrite apology he issued at his federal sentencing.

                                    and

                                    Judge Vicki Marcus agreed to the plea deal and sentenced Teixeira to a dishonorable discharge and no jail time. She rejected a prosecution request for a written reprimand and a demotion in rank for him.

                                    Teixeira, of North Dighton, Massachusetts, was already sentenced last year to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court to six counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information under the Espionage Act, following his arrest in the most consequential national security breach in years.
