I do.
I reply until it gets weird. Sometimes they turn into fun social media fodder.

Rare.
I don't know if it would be useful to you, but you can block anyone not in your contact list - the message goes to voicemail.
I think it works for texts as well.

I rarely get single word text messages from unfamiliar phone numbers. Instead, I get text messages with solicitations to buy real estate properties that may or may not be registered under my name. For these messages, I usually tap ‘report junk.’
Another trend I notice is that, more and more frequently, I get LinkedIn messages from accounts with profile pictures featuring “young beautiful women” (conventional notion of “beauty,” conventional notion of “women”), like these people could have a stepped out of a fashion magazine. They all claim to have graduated from respectable universities and have jobs with respectable titles with well known organizations. But they all look “fake,” like their profile pictures have been heavily doctored or are computer generated composites to begin with. Anyone get these?

I get them in chinese for some reason. I recently replied to one in english and got a fast response in perfect english. Seemed like a real human. They wanted to know where the office supplies were that they ordered. I tried to figure out what the scam was, but wasn't able to before I lost interest and blocked them. I know it was a scam because they were bull headed to continue the interaction when I told them they had the wrong number.

Yup, maybe once or twice a month. Never reply so as not to flag my number as an active one.
I also get voicemails once or twice a week from an out of area number and it's usually just static.

Ive never replied either.
I also get them on WhatsApp with a beautiful girls picture. I used to get crypto spam too but those seem to have dried up.

Yep - I stopped responding a while ago. But they usually sent a picture of an attractive Asian woman.

Yeah. I block and delete. To respond risks engagement you don't want.
