    https://www.mprnews.org/story/2020/06/17/city-of-duluth-moves-to-remove-the-word-chief-from-key-job-titles

The city of Duluth is moving to delete the word “chief” from the titles of two of its administrative leadership positions in an effort to remove language that some Native Americans and others find offensive.

On Monday, the City Council is scheduled to take up an amendment to the city charter to change the name of the city’s “chief administrative officer” to “city administrator.” The city’s “chief financial officer” would be renamed “finance director.”

“We are dropping the name ‘chief’ with intention and with purpose so we have more inclusive leadership, and less language that is rooted in hurt and offensive and intentional marginalization,” Duluth Mayor Emily Larson said in explaining the move.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

U laugh but I really worry about America. As if it’s imploding faster than the fall of the Roman Empire.

At some point it becomes a practical consideration about whether to placate the left, because they are the party of group-think and pandering to the masses, and that sort of thing can get arbitrarily destructive. Of course always under the cover of righteousness. The mission to destroy Trump and take whatever else down with him as necessary, is certainly a social force to be contended with.

          Education is extremely important.

Sadly, if Trump lost in November, that would remove most of the gasoline under this cultural fire. But it would just rekindle the ambers of frustration of the "silent majority" that delivered Trump his surprise win in 2016.

If Trump loses in November the shit the democrats do to this country will make you wish you could go back to today's "culture wars" as you put it. Secondly, the frustration level of the silent majority are not mere embers, and they weren't mere embers in 2016.

There was no such silent majority. Trump lost the popular vote. It’s an electoral college fluke.

There were enough people voting for him to elect him President. I think all of us got the point 89th was making, O pedantic one.

                            Etymology

From Middle English chef, borrowed from Old French chief (“leader”), from Vulgar Latin *capum (from which also captain, chieftain), from Latin caput (“head”) (English cap (“head covering”)), from Proto-Indo-European *kauput- (English head).

I didn't say he received a majority of the vote, I said the "silent majority" out there helped elect Trump by using their voting power.

Makes me wonder how many people even now, won't confess to having voted for Trump in 2016.
2020 is different, since nobody seems to know what the hell is going on across the globe, and how whatever it is will be reflected in that possible hesitation in the voting booth.

The middle class is being gouged, the lower economic class can not hope to be middle class, and those that are causing this also control the message as well as the means of messaging. That's my take, as a broad generalization.

At least as more and more small businesses fail, for a variety of reasons - plague to riots - at least Amazon can take up the slack. Get it? That's called sarcasm, for my good bud Ax those that need clarification.
