I like the song and music (and like the Pogues a bit), even if it is quite a depressing song when you listen to the lyrics and story.

To keep with the "Irish punk" theme, another one I have been listening to. The video is quite funny I think.

@Mik said in What Christmas Song is on your repeat right now?:

Pffft I am so gonna pull stupid hipster rank here and say I saw 'em many times as a kid, back when they were so small they were openers for The Business, the Ducky Boys and Showcase Showdown. If you weren't kicked in the face at 930 and had Big Josh (RIP) drag the perpetrator to the alley then you weren't there, man.

@Renauda and I thought I was the only one who enjoyed Steeleye Span!
Maddy Prior's voice!
I enjoyed them, way back in the mid 1970s.

You know she did a solo album in the late 1980s of English carols? I think it’s on the Saydisc label.
I have the CD. One of my Yuletide favourites.

Get in touch with your inner jazz snob...
Link to videoNobody is immune from the lure of playing Christmas tunes, apparently. There's a nice little musical joke at 2:02.

I need an anti-repeat. Once you've heard it once a season it cannot play again. Number one with a bullet would be Litte Drummer Boy.

Speaking of repeating songs, how about Figgi Pudding, Partridge in a Pear Tree, and Feliz Navidad. Can't stand those songs.
