Say...isn't Melania Romanian?
Ew.

Ew.
Get outta here. He'd hit it and you know it.

Yes Romanian is a Romance language that uses the Latin alphabet but hell if I can understand it.

I have been told that Romanian has acquired a lot of words derived from Turkish and various Slavic languages. I suspect too there are some from Hungarian as well. While that makes spoken Romanian challenging, someone with very good Latin skills can make out the jist of written Romanian without much difficulty.,

There’s a new blonde Brazilian bartender at our favorite Italian place… Can hook you up…

Well carp. Though it sounds like it’s what was best for you - so I’m glad for that. My parents divorced when I was in 6th grade, and they lived close enough to each other that I could easily ride my bike from one place to the other. We spent weekdays at my moms, and weekends at my dad, and then switched that in the summers. We alternated holidays. They did the best they could to be civil to each other for us, and for that I am really grateful.

Not even remotely. I wanted it and am loving my life.
Happy to hear that you are happy, jon.
So, does the new love interest play piano?

Ha. No but she likes classical music and piano in particular.

How do you know she has a Brazilian?

Somewhat related, I almost started a thread here a few months ago.
Married life became much more difficult once kid number 2 arrived. Mainly due to the differences with how my wife and I handle stress, or lack of sleep, and the resulting way we communicate. My wife would agree with this...I'm very steady, almost annoyingly steady in terms of mood, regardless of whether the day/night has been easy or hard, whereas her mood shifts quickly from one end to the other based on how the day (or night) has gone.
As a result, it's very easy to shift into a "roommate" relationship where 99% of the day is focused on taking care of responsibilities, without time spent on the relationship as compared to the dating and child-free days. Almost started a thread to ask for advice, actually.

Yep. You have to MAKE time for it. A priority. Try to schedule on days that might not be as hectic. Make sure it is something she loves to do. You sound like me with the even keel thing, which means you don't have as much need to 'escape'.
The other thing you might do is buy her surprise treats like massages or mani-pedi stuff to pamper her by herself while you watch the tribe. Trust me - it's a great investment. Beats the crap out of flowers.

The beauty of grandparents...That's why family can be so important.
If they ain't available, set up a date night for you and the bride. Or, it can be an afternoon or whatever. Just as long as it's just you and her. Doesn't have to be every week, but it has to be consistent.
And leave the phones in the glove compartment.

@jon-nyc Hugs. :couplekiss:
BTW, I thought that Romanian was quite close to Spanish, no? Or least somewhat understandable to a Spain speaker
-
Agreed with you both. We are lucky to have her parents nearby and they enjoy watching the kids. Definitely need to keep the dates scheduled. It’s been also tough with the pandemic closures right when #2 was born, combined with his poor sleep patterns has resulted in many many exhausted mornings. Also, I drink coffee, she doesn’t!

I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and have “competent tourist level” French. I can understand written Italian enough to get by and can sorta follow the subject matter but not the detail when I hear it.
And still Romanian is an enigma.
But I hear it spoken. Maybe written I’d do better.
