Daunting does not seem to deter him. Some of the features they describe are a step forward for sure. Imagine taking down all the cell towers. Imagine every back country hiker has satellite coverage. Anyone anywhere in trouble can get assistance. Planetary rather than regional coverage.

Yeah, though the satellite phone people were never successful except with explorers and marine and oil guys. Granted that was before the smartphone era.

Pretty crowded market.
Would it be just another android phone or would he set up his own ecosystem? He seems temperamentally inclined towards the latter but that seems pretty daunting.

For phones-as-they-are. With radical changes that make great leaps in technology or usage, it'd likely be very successful.

Agreed. From this point on I think any serious improvement in capability and utility will be successful.

This is a really terrible article.
The author seems to have no clue whatsoever what he's talking about.
What he says about crypto mining is complete nonsense. Same for astrophotography. Actually almost every part of that article is cringe-worthy.

I was reading a article on the Google phone the market share that they have is quite small, even with all the power of Google behind it.
At this point, I think it will be a tough market to break to.

The article is claiming this revolutionary device is being released in a year’s time.
Seems a little optimistic.

Maybe I am old fashion, but this does not seem like a big deal
"The phone will reportedly let users lock and unlock the car and control the temperature, media, and other features. This will supposedly give drivers more convenience and ease of use when operating a Tesla car."
