Honestly, I have no problem with the headlines. Americans should never forget a President's refusal to accept an election loss. Never.
That being said, you are right about the NPR write-up, specifically this paragraph.
The foundation of Trump's 2016 candidacy and ensuing presidency was nativism — he campaigned on building a wall to keep Spanish-speaking immigrants out of the United States; in his early days in office, he banned people from some mostly Muslim countries from coming to the country; he inflamed racial tensions like when he said there were "very fine people" on both sides of a white nationalist protest in Charlottesville, Va., where a counter-protester was killed; and he regularly exaggerated dangers to trigger anger and fear in many Americans.
First, it's written like, by a 7th grader, like, totally, like ya know? Second, while I certainly disagreed with Trump on a number of topics (election denial, handling COVID early on, 3rd grade insults) the items listed above are very much inaccurate. I had no problem with his effort to secure the border in regards to illegal immigration, ban certain countries from sending people to the US (presuming there is a valid national security reason), and indeed there were many fine people on both sides of the Charlottesville event. Then again, as a native Virginian, I have more respect for Robert E Lee than probably most of the country.

He acted like a spoilt, whiny little brat when he lost the election, which perhaps isn't particularly surprising, but certainly isn't what I'd want as a head of state.
I'm not sure the headlines are particularly egregious.

And was still better than most of his opponents.
Sad

I think almost anyone who is a top Republican contender today can beat Biden in the general. Probably easily.
But, if Trump doesn't make it out of the primary on top, I can see him running 3rd party and completely ruining that.
EDIT: meant to say "beat Biden"

He might get tired of losing eventually

One of the talking heads said that it was interesting that there was no comment about the 2020 election being "stolen," or anything like that.

It doesn't matter
The sources you posted above will still talk about it.
He is fair game for any and all fantasies now.
Whether he deserves it is debatable, but nobody should have to endure the treatment he gets from the various media sources.
It must make him crazy, maybe that's why they do it. The crazier they make him the more clicks they get.

Poor little Donald. Life has been so unfair to him.

My feeling about Mr. Trump is now about the same as Mr. Biden.
They are both just pathetic old men.
Beyond that, picking on either one is just bullying.
Mr. Trump is harmless now, of course Mr. Biden still has some power but I don't think he really wields it.
They'll be gone soon enough.

Cut the cord last year, but “Samsung TV” does stream Fox News Live. Turned it on this afternoon for a bit and there’s not been a single mention about Donald.

Try CNN or MSNBC. They might still carry some Trump related content.
