There are some people saying that FTX's contributions to Dems were quid pro quo for Ukraine War funding.

If it isn't in the NYT, then it's not made up.

Well, it's on Fox Business today...

There are midwits everywhere. Even smart people can succumb to ideological possession. Musk was JAQing off about it yesterday.

As far as I can tell, these are the three facts that crackpots spun this story from:

              1. Ukraine got crypto donations, some of which came through FTX.

              2. SBF gives money to democrats.

              3. US gives money to Ukraine.

              What they aren't considering:

              • Ukraine got crypto and turned into hard currency. They didn't transact the other way around
              • SBF is a 30 year old progressive who was worth 30B six months ago. He has been giving tens of millions to democrats for a number of years and hundreds of millions to other causes. Including Ukraine, to which he gave a "very large" donation
              • Why would SBF, who's been giving millions to democrats for years, suddenly start charging Ukraine for it? Something he was already doing with his functionally-infinite supply of money? At the same time he gives Ukraine a "very large" donation?

This is one of those stories that to hear it is to know it's bullshit. Unless you're so ideologically captured you've lost the ability or the willingness to think.

This is the Maga version of Jesse Smollett (or Duke Lacrosse or A Rape on Campus or...) story. It was obviously false to anyone who didn't really want it to be true.

Uh, SBF was the third largest donator to Dems this cycle, burning through almost $40M. There are allegations that some of that money was quid pro quo for Dem support for Ukraine funding. Now, seeing as how you were durn near orgasmic over a Russian hooker allegedly pissing on Donald Trump's bed, pardon me if we'd like to see if there is any "there" in the FTX allegations. After all, we have almost 40,000,000 reasons.

And since Justice won't investigate the Bidens for influence peddling (BTW, notice Joe sucking Xi's dick yesterday?), might as well give them somrething to do...

Shouldn’t we get to the bottom of Hugo Chavez’ involvement in stealing millions of votes from Trump first?
