Trump vs. DeSantis

He was never not this guy.
I bet he still has Jolly’s vote. And Improv’s. And probably Copper.

It is a bit early.
If the opponent is Ms. Clinton or Mr. Biden I would almost certainly vote for anyone else.
In 2016 I thought Ben Carson and Rand Paul were OK.
Ross Perot was certainly the most fun, I really liked him.

Depending on the circumstances, maybe.
It's all about the judges, baby.
This seems like a yes.
The spirit of the question wasn’t “are you with him until the end regardless”, rather it was “despite the fact that you have clear alternative(s), is he still your favorite”?

That's a definite maybe.
Starting with the Tea Party and carrying on through Trump, the GOP has morphed and I'd continuing to change.
Are you aware that Republicans actually won five million more votes than Dems in this Congressional cycle? The problem came in that normally that margin would have translated into more seats won. The post mortem ought to be interesting.

By the way, if Hershel Walker’s IQ were over 80 he’s be lamenting Trump’s insistence on announcing next week. As it is, though, he probably hasn’t given it much thought.

$12M.
Most folks with an IQ of 80 don't have a net worth of $12M.

Also crime and politics. But I repeat myself.

With sports, not at his age. Most are broke within a few years after leaving the game.

Anyone know if DeSantis has replied in any way?
It seems like silently ignoring Trump and going about his business as Governor is the smartest thing he can do. Oh, and stump for walker.

The added bonus is that being ignored will drive Trump nuts.

It's not wise to argue with a fool. Listeners can't tell which is which.
If DeSantis ignores him, Trump will get shriller and shriller to the point no one will listen nor care. He'll create his own ignominy.
Regardless of our talents, we can still be our own worst enemy.

Mik:
"Regardless of our talents, we can still be our own worst enemy."
That is profound, and sums it up so well.
And I hear you can cook, too! -

I would agree. DeSantis has absolutely nothing to gain at this stage by responding to Trump. The latter is already created his own state of ignominy. Best to give him the spotlight and let him continue to make a fool of himself publicly.

Lincoln's quote comes to mind.
Even if he didn't really say it.

Joking aside? They are wrong. There ARE some that wouldn’t vote for DeSantis. I bet there are more than a few that would just stay home.

I don’t disagree, but Romney and McCain brought in 60,000,000 votes each. Donald brought in 74,000,000 in 2020 and it still wasn’t enough. Biden came in at 80,000,000. What’s the threshold for a Republican victory in a non-Trump Election? Can DeSantis top 80,000,000 if he needs to? 70,000,000? These are questions that do need to be asked.

I think eventually he can. But Trump needs to be backed off or drawn in to support. A bit late for the latter, but two years is a long time.
