Seems like they found a bunch mail-ins from Clark County. Probably had them in reserve.

Most of the civilized world must laugh at our election system.

Rubio was commenting about how Florida, a state with 5 times (?) the population of Arizona can get its count done in a matter of hours, and AZ is taking days.

      (conspiracy theory)

Of course the fact that the current SecState in AZ is running for governor has nothing to do with that, amirite?

AZ doesn’t use electronic tabulation, I believe.

Some states don’t allow mail in or early votes to be counted until after Election Day. Trump even pushed for such laws in 2020 (e.g. PA, I believe) in order to enable election night claims that he won.

I agree mostly with you… I still think there’s a place for it, but not like it is now, and I believe the ballot should be notarized before sent.

Sorry, but I don’t understand where easy trumps secure.

Exactly, in Arizona the hundreds of thousands of early/mail-in cannot be touched until 7pm. It takes a long time to process them. That has always been the case.

                  Many states are like this.

Only starting at 7pm can they open the boxes of mail-in ballots, scan the barcode registered to a voter, make sure its valid, make sure that voter hasn't cast a vote elsewhere, capture signature affidavit, then review the signature. Only then are the ballots sent to an actual bipartisan processing (counting) team. A pretty decent system, it seems.

It is simply fake news (and dangerous misinformation) to claim this is fraud without evidence.

One of my biggest pet peeves is needing to spend time and energy to disprove a false rumor, just to get back to status quo.

                      My bad...I brought up Arizona.

But, Nevada and Arizona are interchangeable, amirite?

Looks like it's a similar process.

BTW, I am in the camp of in-person voting and only allow absentee for specific scenarios. I could be wrong but when I first voted in 2000 it was by absentee because I was at college, and I recall there being rules as to when you could vote that way (e.g., deployed with military, at college, unable to commute to polls, etc). Nevada's process of mailing everyone a ballot seems nice on paper, but only further degrades the quality of informed votes, IMO...

I’d be in favor of that too. Before covid you had to have an excuse here. It could be as simple as “I’ll be out of town on Election Day”, but you needed some reason.

I’m ok with voter ID requirements too.

I have no problem with early voting, as long as it is with 10 or 14 days of the election, done in person at the courthouse or at a designated location such as a public library, etc.

I've come to the conclusion that mail-in carries so many ways to promote fraud, that I'd just as soon leave it alone.

Too high a bar for my taste. Nobody notarizes my signature when I vote in person.
