@Jolly I assume you are talking about President Trump? LOL
QUOTE
When the Daily Wire reporter began raising doubt about the vaccine efficacy, Trump interjected, saying, “Well, no, the vaccine works.”“The ones that get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don’t take their vaccine. But it’s still their choice, and if you take the vaccine, you are protected,” he said.
UNQUOTEIf you are going to bash President Biden on this, you have to bash President Trump also.

No, I don't.
Reason? You know what you know when you know it. Biden knows better. Or at least the Senile Patient's handlers do.

Regardless of presentation vs reality, the vaccines have helped us greatly in opening back up and preventing deaths.
But Paxlovid? Everyone I know who took it rebounded after it was over. Plus nasty side effects. I got it but decided not to use it.

The mRNA vaccines worked somewhat until Omicron. As I said, times change.
I also said very early into this, the virus would mutate, necessitating new formulations, just like we do with flu. Trouble is, the COVID vaccines don't last as long as the flu vaccine. As COVID strains multiply (and they will) and hopefully weaken, it's going to be very interesting as to vaccine formulation and patient demographic.
Who are you going to give it to and when is the best time to give it?

The worst thing a parasite can do is kill its host prematurely. Hopefully you're right.

OTOH, did you see the stuff on the Gecko Virus (supposedly where RSV and Flu had combined into a single virus)?

After 5 vaccinations.

NEW YORK — The head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has tested positive again for COVID-19.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky had mild symptoms Sunday and is isolating at her home in Massachusetts, the CDC said Monday.
Walensky, 53, first tested positive on Oct. 21. She took a course of the antiviral pill Paxlovid, and later tested negative. But the symptoms returned and Walensky is again in isolation, working and holding virtual meetings, the CDC said.
Paxlovid has proven effective at preventing serious disease and death among those at highest risk, including older people and those who are immune compromised. But the pill appears to provide little or no benefit for younger adults. Some who take the drug have experienced a return of symptoms after completing Paxlovid’s five-day regimen of pills.

I mean, the vaccinations aren't preventing someone from getting COVID, but they have helped massively in reducing sickness and death. Honestly, I wonder if I took a test every day (as I'm sure the CDC director and others probably do), I wonder if I would've tested positive.

It's all cost/benefit.
You or I may need it. George or Jon may need it. Younger people, especially those in their twenties (and younger) with no comorbidities?
You're going to have to convince me.

I would not try. They have the option to get it or not. I would encourage my daughter to do so.

It is sad that it has become so political in the US.
(Some) Republicans look at everyone who gets it as some sort of non-patriot.
(some) Democrats look at everyone who does not get it as some sort of non-patriot.
To me, it is a "no-brainer".

No, they haven’t. In your age range, 12 out of every 100,000 cases resulted in death in unvaccinated people. Now what do you think happens to those numbers when you take Diabetics out? https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.10.11.22280963v1
Try finding the post vaccination numbers. It’s actually quite difficult.
This is a deadly disease for the elderly and those with co-morbidities. Much less so for everybody else. Even with the vaccine, an elderly patient with the vaccines have much worse outcomes than unvaccinated youth.

When you have the governor of New York and the candidate for Vice President say that she would never take a "Trump vaccine," back in late 2020...well that horse left the barn long, long ago.

Numbers are hard to come by, aren't they? And VAERS borders on useless. I would love to see vaccine reactions/serious problems/deaths broken down by gender and age group.
I'd also like to see some current hard numbers on mortality rates in the elderly of COVID+comorbidities vs. Flu+comorbidities.
