Peak Russia was before 1917. In 1991 when the USSR broke up, the country couldn’t even feed itself. It pretty much ceased being able to feed itself by 1934.

These days, economic power is key. There’s a reason why many firms are shifting to India and other countries for manufacturing.

I agree. Simple Manufacturing is always looking for the cheapest labor. 75 years ago, it was Japan. Then it moved to Taiwan, then mainland China. Now, it is Vietnam, Bangladesh, India etc.
I still think that Africa continent is maybe next (but that "next" may not come for another 35-50 years)
