    We know this is a dangerous job, and they fly very low... @Copper I'm sure would know more from the video, but it seems like it was a combo of wind, perhaps water weight shifting prior to release, or maybe just flying a bit too low to try that exit maneuver?

      That was a really steep bank. You lose a lot of lift at such an angle, and I'm sure that played a role as well.

        I know there are plenty of plane crash videos, and one thing I am always reminded of is how quickly it can go from normal to unavoidable disaster, and imagine it feels even faster in the cockpit. Reminds me of this, for example:
