    I don't like that signature.

Use your name, or at least identify the group.

Does this note represent all twitter works, or just 3 or 4?

      From the RWEC:

First, that “the public conversation is in jeopardy.” Why, yes, I do believe that’s why many have objected to the heavy-handed censorship that’s been notable on the platform in recent years — something in which many of those worker bees seemingly have played an eager role.

Second, characterizing Musk’s rumored intentions as “worker intimidation.” So…the prospect of losing one’s job is intimidating, eh? Friends, may I introduce you to “cancel culture,” and the progressive Twitter mob?

Third, all the demanding. I don’t know how to break it to these 21st Century Norma Rae wannabes but while I don’t begrudge them petitioning their would-be employer for redress, the haughty, entitled tone is precious. Let’s examine the dynamic: The employees work for the company (voluntarily), so its boss is, in fact, the boss of them.

Conversely, the Government works for We the People — and, in fact, our right to petition the Government for redress is enshrined in the First Amendment — so we are, in fact, “the boss” in that dynamic. Yet, when conservatives protest government overreach, they’re a “threat to democracy,” and calls for Twitter to be treated as a true public square, where speech remains free, have been dismissed as whackadoo, fringey, rightwingery.

Anyhoo, I don’t know about you, but I’m getting the popcorn ready to watch how this all plays out.

On what grounds? Not that virtue needs legal grounds. But hopefully there will be a pretense of legality, for old time’s sake.

                      Hey guys, "You're fired."

Elon Musk completed his takeover of Twitter Inc. TWTR 0.66%increase; green up pointing triangle Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter, capping an unusual corporate takeover battle and setting up one of the world’s most influential social-media platforms for potentially sweeping change.

Mr. Musk fired Chief Executive Parag Agrawal and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal after the deal closed, the people said. Spokespeople for Twitter didn’t comment.

It wasn’t immediately clear who would step into those top positions. CNBC previously reported the firings.

Mr. Musk completed the deal a day before a court-imposed deadline to complete his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter or face the prospect of a Delaware trial over the deal’s future.

There were signs this week indicating that Mr. Musk was moving closer to acquiring the social-media platform by Friday’s 5 p.m. deadline. Banks started sending money backing the deal, The Wall Street Journal reported. Mr. Musk also has changed his Twitter bio to “Chief Twit,” showed himself walking into the San Francisco headquarters of the social-media platform, and issued a statement on Twitter explaining his vision for the site to advertisers.

Closing the deal ends a monthslong saga of whether Mr. Musk would or wouldn’t purchase the company. The deal also would put one of the world’s most prominent social-media platforms under the control of the world’s richest person, with implications for the future of online discourse.

Agrawal was targeted by that diatribe from Peterson recently. It’s too bad he will no longer be available to receive a public retribution.

And those guys will walk away with millions of USD$ since (I assume) they were let go "without cause". Plus, they don't have to end up working for Mr. Musk. Win-win for them!

                                        Without cause?

Musk owns the company. He can fire or hire who he chooses...

Sorry - it wasn't very clear what I was trying to say. I was trying to say that a lot of executive contracts have a "golden parachute". If you are let for "for cause", you don't get the parachute. However, if you were let go "without cause", you still get your parachute.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
